The act of writing involves great blankness, confusion, hunch and uncertainty. I stick with it in order to
find out what I know. – Patricia Hampl

By this age, most of us have accumulated at least one “thorn in the flesh.” Shocks, losses, failures & betrayals can fester for a long time, complicating current relationships and burdening our final passage. Gently guided writing is a safe way to tend inner hurts and discover hidden strengths. This session is open to community members, wounded warriors and everyone with a heart for vets.

What holds you together during hard times?
What hidden struggles take up space within you?
What difficulties are ready to be sifted into compost?
What hidden strengths nourish your soul?

Bring your favorite pen, notebook, and sense of curiosity. Join the circle
for ninety minutes of discovery writing in a quiet environment, under the tender guidance of a seasoned Quaker grandmother.

Our guide Judith Favor has been writing for herself since she could hold a pencil, guiding others in contemplative writing since the 1970s and writing in spiritual accompaniment since the 1980s. Blessed by new love in old age, Judith lives with her spouse Pete at Pilgrim Place in Claremont.

Write down your stories.
To remember, and to be able to forget.
– A. J. Waterborne
